Welcome to the chronicles of the Haanen family. With the advent of our second baby girl, we are filled with more activity and joy than ever before. Follow along with us as we venture through parenthood for the first time...
Sierra loves being a big sister. She loves making Lily smile and getting her toys and yelling at mommy to fix her when she's crying! She even tries telling her what to do, but Lily doesn't listen very well yet.
We drove to Nebraska to visit Great-Grandma Dorothy for Thanksgiving. It was a treat to get to spend some time with her. She met Lily for the first time and Sierra had lots of fun playing with Grandma. She even got to go for a ride on Grandma's walker while she walked around the house!
Uncle Tom and Aunt Eli were also there to celebrate and eat with us!
So, I know it seems crazy that we would even consider giving Sierra a haircut considering how little hair she has to begin with, but we thought it could use a little "style".
Grandma couldn't wait until Christmas to visit, so she came out for a weekend trip in December. Sierra was excited about the Santa hat that Grandma brought!
Grandma Bev and her girls
We decided to give cookie decorating a shot. Turns out, Sierra is quite the cookie artist. She sat for over and hour and "painted" dozens of sugar cookies!
Lily loves hanging out in her bouncy chair. She shakes and rattles and grabs and eats all her toys too!
She is a bubble-blowing machine!
Sierra loves playing with her baby - the other day she informed us that her name was "Lulu" Grandma even brought a Christmas dress for her :)
Our little "Lily-Pad". (I always have to explain what Sierra is saying when she tells someone what her sister's name is!) It has been so fun watching Lily grow, and I'm reminded of how fast it happens. She giggles and smiles and plays with toys. I'm such a lucky mom to have two beautiful girls. What a loving God we serve who blesses us so richly!
We just can't get enough of the smiles.
There are a couple little tiny dimples hiding in there.
Well, we're a bit behind on the blogging... Kelly is sitting right next to me and saying "That's always how we start our blog posts." So, I guess I won't start with saying we're behind on blogging. We're were just waiting for the right words to emerge for the precious pictures we wanted to post.
Grandpa Greg was in town for Ethan and Moriah's arrival, and he came and hung out with Sierra, our little lion, and Kelly on Halloween day at the Denver Zoo.
Everybody dressed up for the zoo, including our friends Abby and Ethan (the fairy and Superman).
Sierra and Lily loved trick or treating at Debbie's. Sierra, however, didn't want to say Trick or Treat. Whenever we would say, "Sierra, can you say 'Trick or Treat?'" she would responds, "No say that." Instead, she simply went with, "Candy, please." That makes more sense anyways.
Lily, our adorable little bumblebee, was a hit at our apartment complex Halloween party.
I thought I would give you all a little glimpse into all the fun I get to have being home with my girls! What a beautiful fall we have had.
We went to the zoo with our friends Shannon, Charlotte and baby Adelyn. Sierra and Charlotte loved the elephants (one of the few animals Sierra wasn't terrified of!)
Sierra seriously went rollerskating! Every Thursday morning they have this session for 2-6 year olds at a rollerskating rink. Sierra didn't want to have anything to do with it, until all the kids lined up in the rink for a snack! The graham cracker and juice finally motivated her to get out there! Here she is "skating" with one of the instructors.
Nana came to visit for a few days. SO much fun! She even got to come to Sierra's gymnastics class one morning.
Our good friends Shannon and Charlotte are in our gymnastics class too. Sitting with Shannon is way more fun that sitting with mommy.
Well, it's not really gymnastics, but it's fun!
We went to a corn maze a few weeks ago. Sierra led the whole way! She would stop and look, and turn to us and say "that way" - we made it out eventually :)
