Over Spring Break we decided to head to the mountains for some snowshoeing. We had plans to go to Deer Creek, a trail highly recommended by the expert (my sister). But on the day we headed up, the Loveland Pass was closed. So our plans changed. Just before Hwy 6, we pulled off to turn around, hoping to find a trail behind us. But lo and behold, at the random turnoff, we saw the "Herman Lake Trailhead" sign. That's where we went snowshoeing. All was well with the world except for one small problem: we forgot the Baby Bjorn (kid backpack). Determined to have fun, we carried her for an hour and a half while trekking on the continental divide. We made a day of it, regardless of forgetting the only thing we really needed.
